Green Mountain Inn - A Green Hotel

Vermont is truly the greenest of destinations.  And here at the Green Mountain Inn we want to do everything we can to keep it that way.  That’s why we’re proud to bear the “Green Hotel in the Green Mountain State” designation issued by the Hospitality Council division of the Vermont Chamber of Commerce.

With over 100 guest rooms, the Green Mountain Inn’s functions are similar to those of a small community.  That’s why implementing the best green practices in every phase of our operations makes a significant effect in our ability to lessen our environmental impact.  Whether it’s cutting trash levels by eliminating unnecessary packaging, procuring locally grown products to curb transportation related carbon emissions, using green cleaners, in-room recycling, or giving you the option to not wash your towels every day to help us cut back on energy usage, we believe each step - whether large or small - can really make a difference.  And being a good environmental steward is a core Vermont value we take very seriously.

Community matters to us - on a local, statewide as well as global level.  As a member of Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility, the Inn is dedicated to a business ethic which values the multiple bottom lines of economic, social and environmental responsibilities as well as financial outcomes.  We recognize our role in providing and sustaining a positive work environment which provides our employees every opportunity to help create the highest quality hospitality product.

Green Mountain Inn Donations

Lending a hand and giving back to our community is important to us here at both the Green Mountain Inn and Willoughvale Inn.  It’s this grassroots connection between our neighbors and fellow Vermonters to get involved and pitch in to make a difference which makes Vermont so special.

In today’s world, there are endless opportunities to contribute to worthy causes and we wish we were able to help with every request we receive.  However, like all fiscally responsible businesses, we operate within a budget.  To maximize the positive impact of our donation funds, we have developed a charitable giving policy guiding our cash contributions and in-kind services.

Our aim is to address the concerns and needs of our neighbors, support our local economy and preserve our environment –specifically focusing on organizations which directly effect change within Vermont.

Here are some of the organizations which both the Green Mountain and Willoughvale Inn support:

Catamount Trail Association
Helen Day Arts Center
Lamoille County Food Share
Lamoille Home Health and Hospice
Mount Mansfield Ski and Snowboard Club
Music Festival of the Americas
North Country Animal League
Stowe Land Trust
Vermont Automobile Enthusiasts, Inc.
Vermont Ski Museum
